Discernment of Covetousness

Updated: Feb 12

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is a familiar verse which is important to guard our finances, assets and inheritance for our generation. Jesus once taught about two masters and He didn’t mention the devil but rather He was specific to address the issue of money and God. Matthew 6:24. Just over the Covid years, billions of dollars were scammed and many lost and took their lives. Do not be greedy for quick riches, easy money or immediate returns. The Spirit of Covetousness is very rampant in the end of days so we have remind the Church to be discerning. Even people looking for jobs, investments, love, and religion can be scammed.

We have to pray to cast out the spirit of covetousness in our Nation. Timothy wrote the greatest gain on earth is not money but rather it's godliness and contentment. So let’s pray for our Nation and the Church to be humble, sensitive to the Holy Spirit and be discerning not to be not tempted by mammon, the god of this world.

To God be the glory!
