9 January 2026 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”James 4:2-3 Prayerlessness causes lukewarmness, dryness and fruitlessness. Jesus taught prayers should not be about what we want but what is in the will and wisdom of God. The wisdom of God comes through prayers and the leading by the Holy Spirit with the Word of God. For without the knowledge of God, people perish. Hosea 4:6 Prayer helps us to have self control and be wise of what God wants us to do.

“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”James 3:13-18

Prayer: O Lord my God, may the prayer of my mouth and meditation of my heart be pleasing to you. Your grace is sufficient for me, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong, in Jesus Name, Amen.
