8 May 2025 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬. This is one of the most deepest description and revelation of Apostle Paul’s life. No one likes to be weak, to be persecuted, or to go through sufferings or rejections but isn’t these things the reality of life challenges we face. The world and the flesh returns violence for violence, and an eye for an eye. But what shall we do as Christians, when people treat us badly?

We should remember the Cross, the finished work of Christ, which js the grace of God. Paul taught,”For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬-‭8‬. Would we choose to follow an angry world or do we choose to follow Christ who forgives, loves, and does good over evil? Our identity is not found in being right in the eyes of man or world but being right in the sight of God by walking in His Word. Psalm 119:105. We need more of Jesus in us, working through us.

Prayer: O Lord my Lord, forgive me if I have reacted angrily or returned words or actions which are not pleasing to you. Teach me to deny myself, carry the Cross, and follow you. Guide me not to react with my emotions but to respond according to your Word and your ways, which is higher than mine. Keep me in prayers, petitions and thanksgiving always that I may have the peace of God daily. May I bear the fruit of the Spirit in meekness, gentleness and a contrite heart, in Jesus' Name, Amen
