Today‘s Inspiration: “Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.” Proverbs 16:32 NIV. Spiritual maturity and growth bears fruit in the Spirit of self control. Anger, bitterness and jealousy are breaches in our soul by the enemy to steal, kill and destroy families. Apostle James taught,” What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. James 4:1-2 NIV
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us fearful, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7. Insecurity causes inflexibility in life. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19-20. God desire us to have agreement, unity and above all love, forgiveness, gracious and merciful. Christ is coming again gloriously for His Church, not just one who has His spiritual gifts but above all bears the fruit of the Spirit. May Holy Spirit lead us to have self control in Christ.
Prayer: O Lord my God, lead me to harken your voice that I will be quick to listen with wisdom and not speak with impulse but with composure. Let me be like a tree planted by your river that is secure, still and subtle. Let your divine grace be upon my spirit to trust you first above all things and to seek you first above all things. Even in times of tests, trials, and tribulations, may your Holy Spirit grant me divine restraints, resolve and restitution to overcome problems with your word, wisdom, and way of Christ, in Jesus Name, Amen.
