8 August 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.” Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ How do we handle criticism, conflicts, and condemnation in life? When a child grows up in such a toxic environment, it could cause one to have low self esteem, insecurity and lack of identity. He or she begin to work hard to justify self and trying to proof one’s identity by works and perfection to bring forth acceptance from others. Just like when we fear to evangelise, we actually fear of rejection.

Becoming a Christian and a disciple of Jesus Christ, we learnt through the divine word of God that our identity is found in Christ alone and not in man. We are created to be God’s children and not man pleasers. Everyone is searching for acceptance by people around us because we are spiritual beings that need love. But if we keep doing things to please people and not God, we get more hurt because we don’t get the response. Christ first loved us and called us to be His disciples so that we know our identity is in God, our Heavenly Father. We are fully secured and loved by God. His love is the sacred place of His grace, joy, peace, and full acceptance of our existence. Have faith, you are fully accepted in Jesus Name. Sharing the gospel is sharing His love. Love never fails and can never be offended.

Prayer: O Lord my God, thank you for your love my Heavenly Abba Father. There is none like you who loved me first and called me your child. I am fully accepted by the grace of your only begotten son Jesus Christ who gave His life for me at the Cross. I am redeemed by the blood of the lamb. Today, I cast out all spirit of rejections, perfectionism and man pleasing. Christ is more than enough for me, because I am accepted, belonged and loved by my God, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
