Today’s Inspiration: “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” Romans 13:11-14.
Religiosity cannot remove temptations, rather religious spirit succumb to temptation of control and pride. Temptation is not sin because we face it everyday in reality. Satan uses temptation to ensnare, lie and distract us from God and God’s divine plans just like what he did to Adam. Genesis 3:8. We cannot put on the full amour of God without having a deep intimacy and relationship with God because He is the only one who can put on full amour of light on us. Remove all distractions today, repent of all sins and draw close to God in prayer, petitions, and thanksgiving unto Him. James 4:8 Put on Christ for He will lead you away from temptations and deliver you from evil. Matthew 6:13. Spiritual discipline is required to put on the full amour of God at all times. Like a soldier whose weapon is his closest companion through life and death, so is the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. Ephesians 6:17. We are created to be the salt and light to the world at such a time of darkness as this.
Prayer: O Lord my God, rend my heart and not my garments that I will discipline my time and life to dwell in your presence. Let I desire to seek you face and not your hands in deeper intimacy and relationship with you. Like Paul, let me die to my flesh and live in thy Spirit daily that I may put on Christ as my amour of light, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
