Today’s Inspiration: “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.” Proverbs 12:1 NIV. The gospel of Good News has a power to discipline the hearts and bring holiness to one’s soul. True godly fathers disciplines their children because it helps them to discern what is good and evil from the Word of God. Children respects fathers who corrects them. Our heavenly Abba Father’s love towards us, brings discipline because He loves us and wants us to produce a harvest of righteousness and peace into holiness.

Discipline makes us legitimate sons and daughters of God. Hebrews 12:11. Challenge in today’s church is that people want delightful messages for the ears and not disciplining messages for the soul. Wisdom says,”From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward. The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.” Proverbs 12:14-16. Apostle Paul instructed Timothy,”Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2
Prayer: O Lord my God, thank you for your word of admonition to bring humility, obedience and teachability in my life. You are a father who loves, disciplines, and directs me into your path of righteousness for your Name sake. Let the words of my mouth, mediation of my heart and the transformation of my actions be pleasing to you in abiding to your Holy Word daily, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
