Today’s Inspiration: “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.” Colossians 3:1 NLT. Salvation is not a status or position or entitlement. It is a journey of a new life with Christ. Jesus taught the cost of a disciple saying, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God. Luke 9:62. Salvation is by God’s grace of saving faith through Christ Jesus because we can never repay our sins except by the Blood of Jesus but it came with the highest cost at Calvary. Ephesians 2:8
Salvation is free but discipleship is not. Our calling, purpose and faith in Christ demands spiritual realities of divine transformation of our attitude, behaviours and character. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Our flesh would always want to be strong, self-sufficient, and secure in our own ways but the life of a disciple is learning to be weak, dependent, and vulnerable to God so that we can be usable by Him with humility, obedience and teachability. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Remember life is not about how much we can have but it is how much we can give that makes it meaningful, purposeful and hopeful. A selfish life is a lonely, depressed and empty. Without the cost of discipleship there is no Christ in Christianity. Discipleship directs us with new direction, decisions and destiny daily. Praise God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, let my eyes not be on the things of this world but on the things of the Kingdom of God. Turn my feet towards your path of righteousness to be your true disciple in demonstration of the gospel. Crucify my flesh at the Cross that I may rise in the Spirit with you. Let my life not spent on worthless things of the world but be called to do thy work on earth as it is in heaven, worthy of your purpose and praises, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
