Today's Inspiration: For if there is a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has and not according to what he does not have. 2 Corinthians 8:12. So let us give as He purposed in his heart to give not grudgingly or out of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7. The worth of our gift to God is not measured by the amount we give but by how much we hold back from what he gives us.

When we have a pay cut, the first thing we think of cutting back is the offering and not the money we spent on luxuries. It is good to examine our attitude in giving to the Lord. Do we give God first place in our lives or are we thinking of ourselves first?
A farmer prayed for his calf to be pregnant so he can offer one of the calves to the Lord. The Lord gave two calves and he was overjoyed. But as they grow, one died and he said he now has nothing to offer as the Lord's calf died. What is the message to us?
We might have good intentions to give to the Lord but when situations changed, the Lord's portion is the first to be axed. We always must have our share first and the Lord can wait.
What is your attitude of giving? One day a lady gives her allowance offering to the Lord by mistake and shared with the pastor. The pastor asked how much. She said 200. How much is supposed to be the offering to the Lord? She said 20.00. The pastor replied only 20.00 is recorded in heaven. Rest was offering by accident and is not credited to her account in heaven. We have to examine ourselves as to how much genuinely are our offerings for the Lord. Under the old testament offerings are thoughtfully prepared and prayerfully presented. It must come from a grateful reverent and obedient heart or it is not acceptable.
Our God is a generous giver. He expects us to be generous too. Our giving is accepted up to the amount you are willing to give. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord preserve my spirit. Help me to give the best to You for You have given us your best. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
