6 April 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭NKJV.‬‬ Life throws us many curve balls and shows us difficult turns as we drive through time and seasons. There is time for everything as the Word of God says. Ecclesiastes 3:1. Life is not a bed of roses but God’s Word reveals our Spiritual life as the rose of Sharon. The rose of Sharon represent Christ in our lives.

The rose of Sharon grows in the most unfavourable and dry places. They are found as lilies in the valleys. Solomon 2:1. It brings us a symbol of hope in hardship, and strength in sufferings. It has strong spiritual connotations of the Cross which give us light in times of darkness and waters which comes from the rock. The rose of Sharon gives us a visibility of vibrancy, inner strength and vitality to transcend seasons and overcome elemental forces of life, emitting fragrance of delight, freshness, and peace in all circumstances. Likewise I find my comfort at the Cross where my life I lay down to the Lord, who gives me rest from my weariness and gives me His strength of wellness for my soul. It’s a divine exchange in the Spirit. The rose of Sharon do not fear and do not fret. It always trust, always hopes and always perseveres.

Prayer: O Lord my God, if we are the lilies of your valley, you are the rose of Sharon. We are the church and you are the Christ. Your presence gives me rest and the fullness of joy. Let my sacrifice of praise be lifted to your gentle ears and my prayers be like sweet incense before your Holy throne. Let me learn from you like the rose of Sharon, whose presence, glory and beauty endures forever with love, compassion and favour, in Jesus Name, Amen.
