7 May 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: ”The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.” James 3:5. Never underestimate the power of our Words in our lives. Deception, disputes, and divisions come from evil intentions of the hearts. If Satan can use a few words of doubts to usurp the authority God had given to Adam and Eve to defy God’s instructions, he will use small things to distracts us and small matters to destroy relationships. A person’s words reflects his or her identity just as the fruits from the tree. Never boast for pride comes before a fall. 8:13.

Sin is subtle and a slippery slope. A veteran minister once preached. “The slope to hell is gentle, you will not realise it.” The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve. Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭9‬-‭10‬. ‭Words could be used to build ourselves and love ones and it could be used to break relationships and esteem of children. We need to be mindful and careful of our words spoken daily to God, ourselves and children because they are prophetic and powerful in forging attitude, behaviour and character for a bright future.

Prayers: O Lord my God, let I not be quick with my mouth, and not be hasty in my heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and I am on earth, so let my words be few. Let me not be quick to judge but quick to forgive. Give me wisdom and grace to know the needs of others and speak words of edification, exhortation and comfort as the Holy Spirit gives me utterances, in Jesus Name, Amen.
