5 November 2020 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: The cry of my heart is to become a servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness. Colossians 1:25. To this end I labor struggling with all His energy which so powerfully works in me. V29. I pray this will also be the cry of your heart. Like Joshua and other mighty men of God, there must be ongoing magnifying the Lord our God bringing darkness into His light. Even if River Jordan is overflowing, which is capable of damaging and destruction, we still cross over to the mission God has given to us. Taking great exploits of God should be our passion. Daniel 11:32. When He calls, He provides.

Joshua has no tool like David or Moses but only God's promises and recognising His presence, yet He was able to lead the Israelites to cross over Jordan River and pull down the strongholds of Jericho to possess the land allotted to them by God. This should be our attitude in executing our commission for God that He will find us blameless on the last day. How do you view the promises of God in your life? To accomplish our mission, is the zeal for God and to be in full control of the situation with the Lord at the helm that we can overcome any barrier in life.

Moses and Joshua have to take off their sandals to worship Him that brought about their victory. What is it telling you on your situation? It's having the spirit of humility to bow in reverence to His will and statutes to be set apart as holy before you can lead your team to success. We need to seek God daily and not look for men's opinion but only the wise counsel of the Lord for strategies to conquer. Joshua, David and Moses did not move till God gave the signal. With Him are angels all around to keep us safe.

The power of the spirit of God must be seen in every part of our life before we can drive our vision and purpose to the heart of our followers to follow our leading. Unless our life and mission impact the lives of the people we lead, we will not be able to accomplish our mission. We need to be united in mind and thought in Christ Jesus. There are three circles in our life. The inner circle is the human spirit. The soul which is the middle one is the heart or human personality then the body in outer circle our physical appearance. Recognising His presence is always knowing what the Lord Jesus feels in our inner man. Practising His presence is allowing Christ to move into the area of our human personality. Our emotions, mind, will and intellect must be filled with His word before Christ can dwell permanently in our heart to direct us.

Christ must dwell in our emotions, in our mind and in our will. The spirit must have more of me before we can truly say we are filled with the spirit. Being filled with the spirit is allowing the Holy spirit full control of our life. It's only the Lord Jesus that can change our heart or personality. People see a change in our life and mission only by our attitude towards people and the impact it had on the world.

It's costly to recognise and practise His presence in our life but at the end of the race we find it so worthwhile when Jesus rewarded us with the word 'God and faithful servant. Come to His embrace.' As Paul said the life of Jesus must be made manifest in our body meaning that when people see our behavior, attitude and character they see Jesus in us demonstrating He dwells in our heart by faith. Ephesians 3:17. God be praised.

Prayer: Lord I allow You full control of my life to lead us to a path that is righteous and true, change our heart, our human personality by controlling it and by cleansing it as You did the temple in your days. Let me not lead a life I want but only what You will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
