Today’s Inspiration: “There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”Mark 7:15-16 NKJV There were arguments against Jesus and His disciples because the religious leaders saw they ate with unwashed hands. The Pharisees were finding ways in their traditions and religious laws to persecute Jesus but Christ knew what was in their hearts.

Jesus replied, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”Mark 7:20-23 Apostle Paul also taught,” For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17 Wisdom speaks,”My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.”Proverbs 4:20-24 NKJV
Prayer: O Lord my God, guard my heart and my tongue so that in all words, they shall glorify your Holy Name through your Holy Word and not defilement. Forgive me of any complaining, criticism, backbiting, grumbling or arguments. Remove the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Break all envy, jealousy and comparisons of the world. Give me clean hands and a pure heart through Christ my savior, redeemer and healer. And everyone who has this hope in You purifies himself, just as Christ is pure, in Jesus Name, Amen.
