Today’s Inspiration: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 NIV. Words are life and Spirit for they direct our days and destiny. Reading the Word of God and meditating the Word is different. A Christian spiritual growth, maturity and transformation comes from such devotion and delight in the divinity of God. Reading informs our minds but mediation directs our hearts. Waters reflect the face so one’s life reflects the heart. Proverbs 27:19.
For blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8. Mediation is developing our inner life and intimacy with God. It is where new encounters, wisdom, and purposes of God manifests just like for David, Moses and Isaiah, who produces great fruit and have good success. Mediation is not restricted to our quiet time but keeping God’s word day and night. This way, the enemy will not be able to steal God’s seeds from you. It moves God’s word from our minds to our hearts. Psalm 119:11.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let me be still and know that you the God of my life, health, provision, and relationships. Let me be rooted in your love, grace and sweet mercies day and night.
