Today’s Inspiration: “But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬. One can be a Christian but live in worldliness. This is the danger of casual and liberal Christianity today. Apostle Paul was admonishing Timothy, who was going to lead the Church to grow spiritually despite his age. Spiritual maturity is not dependent on age or on the stage. On the contrary it is dependent on hatred to sin and obedience to God to walk a holy life. 1 Samuel 15:22.

Paul warns Timothy that there will be false teachers and their objective is to get money out of believers. He said,”For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬. ‭Just like the rich young ruler who couldn’t give up what God has blessed him to follow Jesus. Mark 10:22 He wasn’t looking for a relationship with God but the recognition for his own righteousness. What are we looking for coming to Church? Not all believers are disciples but all disciples are true believers of Jesus Christ. One who is willing to lay down his life, his way, his riches and his future to follow Jesus. Luke 9:23.

Prayer: O Lord my God, for I serve you only and not mammon. As I commit my plans to you, you shall direct my steps with your Word of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Let I not seek the desires of the flesh but desire for the spirit, heart, will and purposes of God. Let I not look to earthly things below but heavenly calling above, that you shall be our God, and we shall be your sons and daughters, in Jesus' Name, Amen
