Today‘s Inspiration: “By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.” Hebrews 11:31 NKJV. In Joshua 2, Rahab was a prostitute and a gentile who saved Joshua’s two spies in the city of Jericho. She believed in the Almighty God who delivered the Israelites with powerful miracles, signs and wonders. The blood of the Passover lamb which was applied to the lintel of every door protected the death of all first born, similarly she was told to tie a scarlet cord in window and all of Israel’s soldiers Passover her house and family, bringing salvation. v18
She eventually became the matriarch of the linage of Judah to the line before David. Why would God saved a sinner in a cursed city and put her in the most privileged lineage of kings? No sins, or failings, or even backgrounds could prevent God’s salvation from entering our homes and families if we believe in God’s grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Rahab risked being killed by her own, gave up all idols and even to save her enemies. It was her faith in God that brought her peace. Jesus said,” I have not come to call for the righteous but the sinners.” Mark 2:17. How to love someone who has done all worst things in life? By our own flesh, it is impossible but with Christ, all things are possible. Our life is not our own but is redeemed by the blood of Jesus at the Cross of Calvary. Glory to God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, your love is higher than the mountains and deeper than the sea, wider than the horizon and longer than all ages. It is written what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—” Let the blood of Jesus be extended to all the souls I am praying for their salvation, healing, miracles, restoration and reconciliation in the families, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
