30 January 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.“ Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬. We all have anger in our emotions encountering fear, anxiety or distresses. God created the emotions of anger not for our righteousness but His righteousness. The former is motivated by flesh and the latter by the spirit of God. Anger is a seed that can grow into a bitter root in our hearts, which deceives, divides and destroys relationships in home and families. What is the motivation of your anger? Self justifications or God’s righteousness. In the end of times, we have to wage war against the Spirit of Anger to have reconciliation.

Witchcrafts and curses are rooted in spirit of anger, resentment, revenge and rage. You could discern the spirit of anger through ungodly talks of putting people down. Apostle Paul taught.” Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬-‭32.‬ ‭In 2024, we need to grow spiritually bearing fruit in self control and not losing control to anger.

Prayer: O Lord my God, help me to forgive quickly and not sin, giving the enemy a foothold in anger, rage or resentment. May I be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. You are the author and finisher of my faith, my emotions, thoughts and actions. Remove all roots of bitterness, anger and curses in my life by the power of your Holy Spirit. Let my tongue be sanctified for your goodness, grace and glory! Let the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart be ever pleasing to you and not self, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
