5 September 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Updated: Sep 6, 2022

Today’s Inspiration: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. The Torah, which is the Word of God was handed down from Moses to Joshua and subsequently down to all jews and gentiles in our day and age through Yeshua. It wasn’t easy for Joshua to fit into Moses’s shoes and to carry his mantle because he was the intercessor for Israel who raised the Rod of God with Aaron and Hur against the Amalekites with victory. Exodus 17:12. To lead our family, our ministry, and even a team in the workplace, we can face doubts and fears in time of demand, challenges or expectations. But be of good cheer, Christ has overcome the world. John 16:33.

Joshua knew all the battles he fought belongs to God but he wasn’t the one who hears from Him directly like Moses. Similarly, how many of us hear the sermon on Sunday but doesn’t read and meditate the Bible for ourselves to hear the voice of God. Romans 10:17 One time in prayer meeting I saw many rusty swords which the Spirit was telling the Church to get back to the Word of God, training with the Sword of the Spirit. Ephesians 6:17. God gave Joshua the strongest commission, courage and comfort that His presence will be with Him to overcome the seven nations and to distribute the inheritance for the 12 tribes. Joshua 3:10. Joshua finally heard God for himself with the Torah when he laid down his physical sword and took up the spiritual one. We are moving into a new season to sharpen our ears to hear the Lord who brings wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God through His Torah. Let him who have ears, let them hear with faith! Revelation 2:29. Be brave and courageous.

Prayer: O Lord my God, your Word is my daily manna and let my eyes and ears not depart from them. Just as you are with Moses and Joshua, you are with me. Do not let my ears be tainted by the world and news, but be filled with your Torah day and night that I may rest in your presence, taking up my spiritual sword in prayer for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
