3 October 2021 Word by Senior Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2. Learning to rest is the hardest lesson in life which requires spiritual discipline. Without discipline, we will not change, train and progress with excellence in the Spirit. Pride will always avoid conviction, correction, teaching and discipline. It stifles maturity and growth. Spiritual discipline brings truth, healing and deliverance for our spirit, soul, and body.

The challenge with the Israelites in the wilderness was that they only know the miracles of God and not the God of their miracles. The cause of all plagues on the Israelites in the Bible was due to pride, idolatry and rebellion. Exodus 32:35 Spiritual discipline brings forth humility in one’s attitude, behaviour, and character. Only through humility like Moses, can we encounter God’s presence. Numbers 12:3.

Are you having more of the World in you or more of Christ? Remember wherever God’s presence is, there is peace and rest for your soul. Exodus 33:14. It is God’s presence that will rout, frighten and scatter the enemies. Praise God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, search my heart Lord, test me and know my fears, worries, and anxious thoughts. See if there is an offensive or sin in me, lead and discipline me into your way everlasting, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
