Today’s Inspiration: “See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:10 NIV. Prophetic prayer keeps in view the matters of the heart which is the heart of the matter to God. All issues of life derives from our hearts which is our Spiritual life. Proverbs 4:23. Before God can use a vessel, He will first wash, cleanse and sanctify for its purpose. Before a vine can be fruitful, it must be pruned. Before a child can be mature, he or she must be disciplined and loved. Before a building is built it must first break the fallow ground and establish its deep foundation. All our negative reactions, thoughts and emotions are all derived from our primitive days of affliction.
We need the Holy Spirit to remove all the roots that were not planted by God so that we can be a fruitful branch in the vine. Matthew 15:13. To be fruitful in 2023, we have to first uproot, tear down, destroy and overthrow all sins that is in our lives by the blood of Jesus. Sin is always the white elephant in the Church and one’s greatest hindrance of spiritual growth. We need the Lord to cut and prune our pride, our lust and our flesh. Jesus taught,” I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:1-4. God can use any broken vessel but never a dirty one. Repentance, submission and obedience to God will bear much fruit. Then it will be the time to build and plant for 2023.
Prayer: O Lord my God, forgive and remove all my sins, iniquities and transgressions with your precious blood of Jesus. Discipline and direct me with your word of truth. Prune me in areas of pride which I depend on self rather than you. Loose me from all distractions and addictions that steal my time from you. Reveal the truth in my soul that your light shall come in to cast out all darkness and sins. Teach me to pray and to break my fallow ground, that I may receive a new heart and spirit to build and plant, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
