26 April 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: ”I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.“ Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ Everyday what directs our eyes and ears, affects our mind and heart respectively. Our mind and heart directs our life, purpose and destiny. The darkness, defilement, deception of evil are so rampant today that the moment you turn on the social media, it captures your attention and people are addicted to it for hours. All negative criticisms, cyber abuse, casual immorality, cancel culture and crude vulgarities become entertainment instead of turning one to moral convictions, corrections and changes to be like Christ.

Jesus taught,”The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬-‭23.‬ ‭Where are your eyes on most of the time? What are you hearing most of the time? Is it God, the devil, others or your flesh? Spiritually they changes you. Backsliding is a slippery slope when the things of the world becomes more attractive than the Word of God. Today the greatest crisis of the Church is that it becomes entertainment with consumerism (what is it for me?) instead of discipleship with the great commission (what God wants me to do?). The Church has to get back to the Word of God so that in the end of times, we will not be shaken.

Prayer: O Lord my God, break and loose my eyes on any media or medium that causes me to be addicted that takes away my sight on you. Let me who have eyes see and let me who have ears hear what God has purposed and prepared for those who love Him. Protect my eyes and ears gates so that they are on your Word, Ways and Works. For your ways are higher than mine, and your thoughts are higher than mine, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
