Today’s Inspiration: “You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low. You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.” 2 Samuel 22:28-29. Humility is spiritual and it takes spiritual formation, discipleship, prayer, healing and growth to bear the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23. When there is pride, there is division, denial and deception, for God hates pride. Proverbs 6:17.

The root of pride is fear, jealousy and insecurity. It hardens a heart and darkens the soul. When there is pride, there is no room for love and God. It is spiritual idolatry of self. We need God’s word to bring us into repentance and forgiveness to break the walls of pride of life. When we humble ourselves in the fear of the Lord, wisdom, knowledge and understanding shall enlighten our hearts and our spirit. Proverbs 9:10. Humility brings healing and light to our minds and bodies. Without humility, there is no Christlikeness. For with God is the fountain of life; in His light we see light. Psalms 36:9
Prayer: O Lord my God, search my heart and if there is any lust in my eyes, lust of my flesh, and pride of my life, forgive my sins and my pride. Break all these walls of insecurity, fear and jealousy in my soul as I humble and bow before you in prayer and worship. Redeem me with humility as I surrender and submit to your Holy word and presence. Let me too forgive others who had sinned against me, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
