Today‘s Inspiration: The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19. The deer is the weakest and the lowest in the food chain. Prey to many predators and vulnerable to dangers. Yet they could pants for a drink at dangerous waters and many times outrun lions and cheetahs. They are highly sensitive to discern their enemies and moves in flock for protection.
Prophet Habakkuk’s worship teaches us to not hold on to the things of the world so tightly but to hold on to the Lord’s hand firmly. Our faith is not found just in good times alone but more so in trying times. The feet of the deer is always light so they could thread on high and difficult places, preventing them to stumble and fall. Apostle Paul preached,”I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”Romans 8:18 In times of challenges, we can find great joy in little things and light moments by holding to the Lord closely. For His joy is our strength. Nehemiah 8:10.
Prayer: O Lord my God, whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. My joy is found in you alone and my strength is secured in your hands. Lead me like a deer at heights to safety, Jesus' Name, Amen.
