28 December 2023 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬. ‭The New Commandment of the Lord is to Love like Christ and it is how the God’s commandments can be fulfilled. John 13:34. What is needed in every family, homes, community and nation is Love. For God is love, and love is God. 1 John 4:8.

There is deep revelation of love in the full gospel. Many misunderstood God in the Old Testament of a judgmental God of wrath but on the contrary, He is a loving father who longs for the prodigal to return. In each family, there needs to be discipline, edification, and forgiveness, with thanksgiving in the hearts. Hebrews 12:6. Strangely, when a poor child has nothing, he is grateful for whatever he has but a rich child has many things yet feels empty and discontent. Our time on earth is to learn how to love, and to learn to love, is to learn how to forgive. And to learn how to forgive is to learn to give thanks to God, who first loved and forgave us. We are just stewards of what we have as we came with nothing, we shall return with nothing. 1 Tim 6:7. The greatest generosity is forgiveness, from which love of God is revealed through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us at the Cross.

Prayer: O Lord my God, guide and teach me how to love like you daily. Remove all offences within me and uproot all bitterness if there are any, through the blood of the lamb, who forgave all my sins and trespasses just as I would also forgive those who sinned against me. Give me a new heart of love, grace and generosity, and remove the old hardened one who strayed from you. Bring back all the prodigals by your grace, and turning all tears into sheaves of joy with love once again, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
