Today’s Inspiration: “You are my portion, O Lord; I have said that I would keep Your words. I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; Be merciful to me according to Your word.” Psalms 119:57-58 NKJV. Busyness is the greatest spiritual hindrance to spiritual growth and maturity. Remember what Jesus said to Martha,” “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”Luke 10:41-42

Have we replaced our personal time with God alone daily with other worldly devices, online activities, pursuits or distractions. Love can only come from the presence of God, with us giving Him our presence wholeheartedly personally. Doing more ministries or being busy with kingdom work doesn’t mean we are closer to God. If we can’t give our personal time to God alone, to hear and discern His voice personally, quietly, and patiently like Mary, we are just like a Martha who is angry, in distress, burnt out and busy without spirituality and direction. Jesus reminds us,”But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. “ Matthew 6:6 Get alone with God daily and it will nourish all things in our spirit, soul and body. Shalom!
Prayer: O Lord my God, as the deep calls upon the deep, and as the deer pants for the waters so does my soul longs for you daily. Forgive me if I have been a Martha and not a Mary, who seats alone at your feet, waiting upon your Word and delight in your voice and presence. Let me offer myself as a living sacrifice wholly given and surrendered to your time, your presence and your Word. Fill and lead me with your Holy Spirit, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
