Today’s Inspiration: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 NIV. We always see this verse is for the children of Christian homes but the truth to the matter this scripture of wisdom is for Christian parents. In today’s modern world we prioritise many things but may not prioritise the Word of God in the family. Christianity is not just going to Church on Sundays but a daily lifestyle living out the life of Christlikeness according to God’s Word by the parents. Matthew 4:4.

Our children sees today more than they hear in the modern era. Do they see Christlikeness in our personal lives? Do they see repentance in our lives, prayers and behavioural changes? Without repentance, we can’t bear the fruit of the Spirit. Matthew 3:8 Have we ask our parents, children or spouse for forgiveness when we are in the wrong? Don’t be surprised that Christian families do not have “Sorry” in their vocabulary. Why? Tradition, Norms or Religiosity? The older we get, the harder it is to say. A family without repentance, forgiveness, love, and grace doesn’t practices the love of Christ, which is the foundation of a Christian family. When we follow Christlikeness, our children will also follow the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6 We can all make a changes regardless of age through Christ Jesus. A day at a time. Glory to God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, let your grace and love permeate my spirit, soul, and body. Let the agape love of Christ renew my mind in confession, repentance, and changes into your likeness. Remove the stony heart and replace it with your heart of grace, love and mercy. Revive my spirit with your Holy Spirit, that I may know you more and more. Sanctify my mouth and my heart, that they may be used as a clean vessel for the master use. Lead me and my children in your Word daily and everlasting ways, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
