Today’s inspiration: “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV. There is no other truth except the Bible which tells one that momentary problems is good, beneficial, and helpful to us in the Kingdom of God on earth. Nobody really likes problems or crisis, especially matters pertaining to health, finances and relationships. Yet Apostle Paul who suffered more than any other apostles could still preach of God’s eternal glory despite his pain, predicaments and persecutions.
Today we tend to hear about good, easy, prosperous and blessed life as a Christian and not longer hear the cost of Christ, the cost of the apostles and the cost of following Jesus in the end of times. Luke 9:23. Christianity was established by the Cross, the Blood, the Resurrection and the Sacrificial Love of Christ 2000 years ago as the foundation of the gospel, and neither of these tell us that our Christian walk is a bed of roses and even roses have thorns. Apostle Paul said,” For to me to live is for Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippine 1:21. It is about giving his life for the sake of the gospel. Today in Christian families, we hear people fighting over small, petty and useless things or trivial offences, whereas in the Mission fields Christian are risking their lives for the gospel so that more souls can be saved and poor could be helped. What is Christianity to you?
Prayer: O Lord my God, let me not think what the Church or Christianity can do for me but what can I do to be like Christ who loved selflessly and unconditionally despite the odds. May I be lesser and you be greater in every aspect of my life. Let there be more love of Christ shared among us that our family, community, and Nation can be evangelised by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
