24 July 2025 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.” Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ Forgiveness reveals the glory of God into one’s life. It is the heart of the Cross of Calvary. The enemy uses offence to plant seeds of bitterness, resentment, and anger into one’s heart to be hardened. He causes the battles of opinions, criticism, and self righteousness. He comes to steal, kill and destroy our joy in the Lord. John 10:10 But praise be unto God for His Holy Word, that speaks of Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life. The power of the blood of Jesus is the atonement of our sins.

Many people cannot forgive because they haven’t encountered the grace of God themselves, that they were a sinner saved by grace and not works. Ephesians 2:8 The Bible speaks of the wise are those who don’t take offence and forgive through the grace of God and not of one being better than the other. It produce patience for the people around us but more importantly it comes from the Holy Spirit to have self control. Jesus taught,”For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬ So we when forgive, we are being freed from the fowler’s snare, not the offender. Glory to God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, let my heart not be hardened by all offences. Break my fallow ground and softened my heart that it will be good soil for your seed, the Word of God. Let my heart not harbour bitterness or resentment but humility and meekness to know I too am a sinner that is forgiven. Give me your wisdom to be patient and the glory to extend grace to others also so that they could experience Christ, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
