24 December 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.” Psalms‬ ‭107‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭NKJV. The first altar prayer is always Thanksgiving. Without thanksgiving and praise, we will not be able to enter the temple and presence of God. “Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalms‬ ‭100‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭Thanksgiving breaks the yoke of fear, stress and anxieties in our daily life.

If we realised, not many people are thankful because they desire to have more things, people, influence and even power in their lives. We can get so caught up by the expectations and demands of the world and people we missed out the most important person in our lives. He is Jesus Christ. We can say Jesus is my priority but I don’t have time to pray or come church because of my work. We can give ourselves the same excuse,” God will understand.” One pastor ever preached,” we must stop dating Jesus but marry Him.” We cannot say we love someone and don’t give him or her our presence, time and resources. That’s where many relationship runs cold, dry and eventually broken. Therefore we have to come back to the House of God with thanksgiving in our hearts to restore our relationship with God and others.

Prayer: O Lord my God, lead me to enter your gates again with thanksgiving in my heart. Lead me to enter your courts with praises in my mouth. Let my sacrifices of tithes and offerings be pleasing unto you and I am grateful even for little things in my life and the love ones you have entrusted to me. May I be like Christ who seeks ye first the Kingdom of God and of your righteousness, in Jesus Name, Amen.
