23 May 2025 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV. Today we see a church that has great potential to be a chosen generation for the Kingdom of God. Jesus said,” Many are called but few are chosen.” There is a difference between called and chosen. The former is from God but the latter is for God. Our salvation is God’s calling, yet our sanctification is for God’s purposes.

The passion of Christ reveals the purpose of His pain at the Cross to save our souls from the devil, damnation and death with eternal life, agape love and freedom from sin. Likewise as God heals our pain and forgives our sins in life, there is a purpose to help others, which relates to our calling and purpose in our spiritual journey. We believe who God heals, He uses as His testimonies to others. There is a predestined destiny in all of us. So don’t just know Christ but to follow Christ. This is the main difference between calling and chosen. The latter responses to God with all his or her heart, soul, mind and strength. Our holy ambition is not to do the world’s business, but the Father’s business as sons and daughters of true sonship in the Spirit.

Prayer: O Lord my God, we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Use me as your vessel for the father’s house, in Jesus Name, Amen.
