Today’s Inspiration: “Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62. Have we ever thought about the cost of discipleship? Why would Peter leave his nets, Matthew his tax booths, and James and John, their family business. Why would Jesus choose the stripes, the nails, the thorns and spear? The highest price to pay is Love and the costliest treasure is Relationship with God.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13.
There were many followers of Christ but few were disciples, just as many were called but few were chosen. Why? The higher the calling, the greater the sacrifice. Many desire the anointing but few are willing to pay the price. There is no love without sacrifice, selflessness, and submission. The richest person in life is not what he possesses but what he blesses for the sake of the Kingdom of God. The greatest sacrifice in your life is the highest calling in the Kingdom of God.
Prayer: O Lord My God, thank you for the price you paid at the Cross of Calvary and shed the precious blood for my redemption. Lead me in thy everlasting ways of giving, sowing, and serving, that I may taste the fruit of my labor. Keep me always in thy plow, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
