Today’s Inspiration: “No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16-17 NKJV. Have we tidy our house and storeroom? I am sure we will discover so many old, unused, spoilt and even dirty items are taking up space which can be hazardous.
We have to be mindful of the spirit of cluttering. We fear of losing old things, which takes up the space of receiving new ones. If that’s for our house, how much more cluttering is there for our souls unchecked for years or decades? How many of us do a housekeeping of our souls? We can attend church and serve God but never search our souls. Therefore to be a new wineskin and new garment we need sanctification, healing and spiritual formation in our soul, the temple of Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Are we open to Christ to come into our spiritual house? Revelation 3:20 Are we willing to surrender all things to Him? It is time for a spiritual renewal.
Prayer: O Lord my God, lead me by your Spirit to reveal the condition of my soul, in my thoughts, feelings and emotions. If there are any cluttering of pain, wounds and hurts, bring healing to my heart and binding up of my wounds. I cast out every spirit fear, anxieties and stress with the perfect love of God through Christ Jesus. Sanctify me with thy Word, and cleanse me to be a new creation in Christ, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
