Today’s Inspiration: “And Jesus said to him (Scribe who wants to be Christ disciple), “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”Matthew 8:20. Today the challenge in the Church is discipleship. If one can love the Lord for only what the Lord can bless or give, it is idolatry and not Christianity. When there is faith, there is always a sacrifice. And without faith, it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6.
Jesus taught it is easier for camel to go through the eye of the needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19:24. There is a price to pay to follow Christ and a cost to discipleship. It doesn’t come automatically or religiously, it comes intentionally, spiritually and wholeheartedly for a surrendered life like Christ, the lamb of God. Discipleship is not just about knowing the Bible, it about knowing yourself deeper in Christ. Every relationship requires love, forgiveness, and sacrifices. Christ can’t love us from heaven and riches without coming down. He gave it all at the Cross that we can be saved from our sins and discipleship do likewise for others. Luke 6:31.
Prayer: O Lord my God, your sheep hears your voice, and you know us, and we follow you. Let our eyes and mind not be ensnared by temporal things of the earth but on the eternal values in the kingdom of God. This is not our home but a pilgrimage of surrendering, sacrificing, and serving. May I learn daily of your giving and praying heart for the poor, sick, and broken souls that they be saved by your grace, in Jesus Name, Amen.
