21 October 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.”Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ What is most lacking in Christian homes today is discipleship today, more so in affluent ones in Singapore. Our children don’t see, feel or experience what lifestyle Jesus has. There is a veteran preacher who once preached that we all like Jesus for who He is (blessings) but very few liked or followed how He lived (carrying the Cross). Luke 9:23. Without love of God in the family, our children will trust on worldly things.

The most important discipleship in Christian home is to teach our children how to pray and read the word for themselves, to have a personal relationship with God. They are never too young to learn about the difference between the flesh and the Spirit. Jesus taught,”No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭24.‬ ‭How does the first day church look like after the Pentecost? We have to pray for the Fathers in our nation for spiritual awakening. The Pentecost brought 8000 fathers in households to teach spread the apostle teachings, break bread, have communion and prayed together. Glory to God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, we pray for all the fathers of our nations to be saved and this is also in the hearts of many mothers, sons and daughters. We have many teachers but few fathers as apostle Paul discerned so we pray that you will pour out your Spirit upon the hearts of all fathers in our nation that they shall hear the gospel and respond, like the jailer, whose whole family was saved. In God we trust, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
