Today’s Inspiration: “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13 NIV. A Christian living is different from the World. Sin will always bring distress, debts and discontent in the flesh but Holiness brings forth peace, prosperity and contentment in the spirit. Apostle Paul taught candidly about not looking or holding tight at the things of this world but to focus on Christ, who leads us to the Kingdom of God. 2 Corinthians 4:18.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17. Is the Church becoming more like the world or the world becoming more like the Church, the image of Christ Jesus? Do we look like Christ in the family, marketplace and ministry? If not, what is missing? Repentance. Without repentance from our sins, we cannot become more like Christ. 2 Chronicles 7:14. The Cross, the Blood and the Spirit of God comes upon repentance, surrender and submission to the Lord. We are not called to be like the world, rather we are called to be different in Christlikeness. Our influence comes from our identity in Christ Jesus.
Prayer: O Lord my God, teach me to be more like Christ. Let your daily bread brings conviction, correction and comfort to my Spirit man. May I learn to deny myself, take up the Cross and follow you as your disciple. Reveal my sins, iniquities and transgressions at your laver and may the atonement of forgiveness through the blood of Jesus draw me closer to God, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
