Today’s Inspiration: “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”II Corinthians 7:10 NKJV. In building up a Christian home with godly values and principles, we need to differentiate worldly parenting and godly parenting. Similarly there is a distinct difference between godly sorrow and worldly sorrow, which differentiate between repentance and regret. Our children have to learn about repentance and not regret in life.
At the Cross, one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him (Jesus), saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”Luke 23:39-43. The former was fearful of the consequences and not God which is worldly sorrow that brings regrets in hell eternally but the latter was fearful of God in true repentance and is now blessed with the Lord in heaven eternally.
Prayer: O Lord my God, may the fear of the Lord be the beginning of wisdom, knowledge and understanding in my life and family. Teach me Holy Spirit about biblical parenting and may your eternal and timeless truth, values and principles manifest in our daily living in the image of Christ. Let godly sorrow guide us in your righteousness by faith and let repentance be evident in our generation’s generation with great salvation, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
