Today's Inspiration: God's ways are never your ways. You gather knowledge hoping to get more wisdom. Wisdom comes from obedience and application to His word to your life. This is why James asked us to be not only doers of the word but hearers as well. James 1:22. When we are doers of His word, we will be blessed in whatever we do. V25.
It was not the abilities of the Israelites that brought them out of Egypt but the power of prayer of an obedient man in Moses and God's time of intervention that delivered them out of the hands of Pharaoh. All they need at that time is Deliverance. Little did they know that it's God's way to bring them out with riches after severe trials. However, they soon found out that riches alone could not sustain them. It was again the power of reverence in Moses that brought them manna from heaven. In times of famine riches could not buy grain as you can see from Joseph's era where they have to go to Egypt to buy grain.
It's winning God's heart that matters in all respects of our life. Riches in the world cannot buy love nor health but only the love of God, His timing and favor that put our life in place.
Man's role is to obey and to keep His commandments and God's role is to grant you mercy to those who love Him and be obedient to keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9. The one secret of man's happiness is to yield himself in loving dependence, a total surrender of the whole being to the will and the working of God. Man's role is to make God alone the portion and the strength of his soul. God's covenant is everlasting. He promised not to depart from you but to do good to you. Jeremiah 32:40. Hence it's in His Sovereign will to bless you. When our faith failed, God could not fulfill His promises to us so we come short of the blessing of God.
The greatest lack of our faith is that we need more of God. Without faith we cannot please God. Hebrews 11:6. Our riches can be taken away anytime if our faith wavers and do not put our full trust in God. God be praised.
Prayer: O Lord I need more of You so that my faith could increase to receive the blessings I have been promised. Nothing I desire Lord is more of You Lord more of You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
