Today‘s Inspiration: “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise. Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem.” Psalms 51:17-18 NKJV. Jerusalem represents our hearts in life. God does not desire sacrifice or I will give it, He does not delight in burnt offerings. v16 Many spent their whole life building wealth, status and riches but neglected their heart. We can become proud of our achievements but relationally impoverished.
God looks not at our works but at our hearts. Remembered what he told prophet Samuel, “For the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at outward appearance but God looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7. That was the criteria of the king of Israel and Judah. A Spiritual Life is about building our hearts, our Jerusalem. For where our heart lies, there our treasure shall be. Who is most important and precious to you? Christ or the world? Idolatry leads us into darkness but Christ leads us into His marvellous light. God turns his face always to the humble and broken because they choose to depend on Him and put Him first in prayer. Matthew 6:33. Let this coming season be building up your heart.
Prayer: O Lord my God, give me clean hands and a pure heart to be built as your vessel. Remove the old and hardened heart within me and be replaced by a heart of Christ. Forgive me if I have put other things above you and lead me back into your presence to seek your face in all things. You are the treasure that I seek, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
