2 May 2025 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.” Romans‬ ‭13‬:‭11‬-‭12.‬ ‭Sin causes one to go into spiritual slumber as we see in the world today. The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life. 1 John 2:16. The biggest deception in the contemporary church today is to have God give more, to have more, and go for more because of false prosperity gospel, rather than to follow the life of Christ and becoming more like Him.

Is the church today ready for persecution? Are we ready to share the gospel to our families, friends, colleagues and even relatives fearlessly in the Spirit? Are we willing to sacrifice time for those who are lost, the last and the least? Where do we need faith in Jesus in doing the Father’s work? When we fear man more than God, and desire the world more than the Kingdom, just like the young ruler who couldn’t give up his riches to follow Jesus, reveals one to be in spiritual slumber, lukewarmness and blindness. Proverbs 29:25. A Christian true regeneration in the Spirit is when one decides to give his life to Christ, and to be lead towards His word, will and work. Genesis 1:26. We have to pray for the spiritual awakening of the Church from worldliness to Christlikeness.

Prayer: O Lord my God, may I never be ashamed of the gospel and be awakened and led by the Spirit of God to be brave and courageous in being a witness of Christ of my salvation. May the Lord use me as your vessel of honour and an overflowing cup to pour out your divine love, grace and mercy to lives who need you deeply, dependently and desperately. For Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. And no one is able to go to the Father in heavenly except through Christ Jesus my Lord and savior, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
