18 June 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable.” Proverbs‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ Our own fleshly will can be a hindrance to hear from God and is a spiritual blockage to our prayers. Have you ever asked yourself why God didn’t answer your prayers? God knows all our needs even before we come to Him but He looks deeply into our hearts. Apostle James taught,” When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives. James‬ ‭4‬:‭3.‬ ‭This reveals the attitude of coming to God whether to seek His face or just to seek His hand.

Jesus taught the disciples,”For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.” John‬ ‭6‬:‭38.‬ ‭Yesterday we learnt that obedience is better than sacrifice. The attitude of our hearts and prayers reflects the condition of our souls. Many are dissatisfied, disappointed, and deceived because they think just becoming a Christian will solve their problems and by coming to Church, God will give them all they wanted. So one will try to find the “best” and most “anointed” church or minister. Such is an idolistic spirit in consumerism. We come to church to be discipled, matured, and follow Jesus to serve God’s will, purpose, and plan, not ours. Christianity is not an entitlement but an enlistment to be a selfless, life and love giving soul like Christ, pleasing to God.

Prayer: O Lord my God, be thou my vision and let my will be yours on earth as it is in heaven. You know all my needs even before I come to you. You are the author and finisher of my faith. Let my will be yielded to your calling, purpose and timing. Where your spirit leads, I will go, and where your spirit stays, I will settle to do thy work as the sheep hears your voice, you know me and I follow you. Let all my prayers be align to yours Lord as you intercedes for us in times and seasons, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
