18 July 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “We glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV. Waiting time is not wasted time. Learning to wait upon the Lord brings patience, posture, perspective, and personality of humility inside of us. How is it there is glory in tribulations? What do we gain from sufferings and pain in life? Very tough questions because no one wants any of them. Who in the carnal mind would carry the Cross?

Why Christians carry the Cross? It is actually not the jewellery that we carry on the neck or to tell the whole world we are religious. It is actually a sinner’s story of saying we should have been pressed but not crushed, perplexed but not despaired, persecuted but not abandoned, and even struck down but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9. It is the matter of despite all circumstances, God had preserved us by His grace and strengthened our inner man for His glory. We are His miracles, overcomers, armies and testimonies! It’s a journey of spiritual transformation and inward formation of Christlikeness. Jesus didn’t ask for the Cross, but He chose to obey God and took the Cross for the redemption of mankind from sin. Glory to God!

Prayer: O Lord my God, thank you for the Cross that I may know you closer, deeper and stronger. It gives me hope and perseverance over all matters I am facing. I believe this hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Teach and guide me to be patient and be prayerful in all circumstances for my soul shall be refined as gold, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
