17 April 2025 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6.‬ Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24.‬ ‭What truly brings and ushers in value in life is not wealth but is mental health. Life cannot be weigh by just monetary gains but by mental gains which only the God of peace could give us. Philippians 4:7. Most people health deteriorated because of both physical and mental pursuits of wealth at the price of their health.

Apostle Paul shed light of wisdom in this important spiritual reminder and conviction,”For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬-‭10.‬ ‭Similarly why people pray only when they are sick or in lack and not when they are well and rich. What is unseen is more valuable than what is seen. God sees not what you have but what is in your heart.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let me seek ye first your kingdom and your righteousness. Let I not put the things of the world and personal pursuits greater than having you in my heart and my mind. Only you can give me the peace, faith and favour in all that I do. For without you who builds my life, I labor in vain. Without you who watches over our borders, we watches in vain. May you be the delight in my heart daily that my desires, shall be fulfilled in Jesus' Name, Amen.
