16 October 2023 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Updated: Oct 17, 2023

Today’s Inspiration: “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.”Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ Hurting words always derive from a hurting and wounded soul. But wise and gentle words can break the bone, healing the hardness of one’s heart. Proverbs 25:15. The Love of God and His Word brings tremendous healing, restoration and reconciliation to one’s mental, emotional, and physical wellness.

The matter of our hearts affects our daily words and our daily words affects our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Proverbs 18:21. Inner healing comes forth deeply when we discern our wounds and words of the past, for they are the roots of our reactions. And we need God to heal our reactions. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭4.‬ ‭

Prayer: O Lord my God, let the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart be pleasing to you. Heal me of my past wounds and words that had hardened my heart. Uproot, pull down, destroy and overthrow all my curses to others and cursed words upon me. Build and plant new seeds of your spiritual wisdom and word of strengthening, encouragement and comfort in my heart to be your fruitful ground, in Jesus' Name, Amen
