Today‘s Inspiration: “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Proverbs 14:30 NIV. Today’s problems are very different from the previous generation in terms of expectations, challenges, success and culture. Many mental health issues are arising rapidly across the globe with inflation and environmental changes. We have also seen suicide rates increased over the years are getting younger. Stress evolves in different generation but its roots are spiritually similar.
Learning to manage our life expectations is important walking in the Spirit. Why is social media and digital addiction so detrimental to a young soul? The root of envy is comparison with others and self centeredness. This also causes pride, jealousy and anguish to arise. We can’t handle failure, set backs, and sin in our lives. Apostle Paul taught,” Godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:6. Technology must always be servant and not a master, likewise for mammon. Our posture in Christ must always precede our possessions in life. So does Character over our Competency.
Prayer: O Lord my God, give us a heart of peace in balancing expectations in life. Lead us into your calling, purpose and kingdom. Let Christlikeness always be the scale and balance of our growth and maturity spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. Give us a heart of thanksgiving and praise daily of the grace, goodness and kindness of God, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
