15 May 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: “What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?” James‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV. Many families especially Christian ones do not discern that cyclical arguments, quarrels and disputes are demonic and it originates from self-centeredness. We deceive ourselves as a form of “normal” communication. The tree of Good and Evil produces fruit of self and fleshly knowledge to proof, oppress and blames others in the wrong, exalting oneself to be right all the time. Does this sound familiar to you? Are we able to discern the battles with us? In fact all quarrels begin with Pride in us which God hates. Proverbs 6:17.

Apostle James taught,”You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”James‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬-‭3.‬ ‭We need to be mindful and prayerful to discern such attacks from Satan because he comes to steal, kill and destroy our peace, relationship, and unity. John 10:10. Christ is always quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to be provoked. Wisdom is never quarrelsome but always quick to forgive, strong with grace and abounding in love to make peace and prayers. Even for difficult people who are hurting, we need to have love, patient and compassion because of their trauma, hurts or abuses in the past.

Prayer: O Lord my God, lead me with your love, your Cross and your Holy Spirit. Forgive me of any pride, anger or impatience. Break and expose every lies and deceptions of Satan who comes to cause division, disputes and disagreements in the family. In the Name of Jesus, I pull down all strongholds of pride, anger, and selfishness. Let the love, forgiveness and grace of Christ Jesus fill me up daily to handle difficult people, conversations, and circumstances with wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
