Today’s Inspiration: “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV. If the great prophet Samuel could miss a king in a young shepherd, how much more we can miss discovering the greatest potential God has in our lives.
Samuel looked at the external build and appearance of David’s brothers but didn’t look at the heart of God. Despite misjudging God’s choice, prophet Samuel didn’t make a blunder because though he didn’t see what God is looking at, he hears and obeys the voice of God. For we walk by faith, and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7. Faith comes from hearing, hearing the Word of God. Romans 10:17. You may be making important choices or decisions in this season, do not be deceived by what you see on the outward appearances. Seek God first and hear from Him directly. What would Jesus wants you to do? Peace and favour will be with you when you hear His still small voice. 1 Kings 19:12.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let me be still and know you are God. Search my heart O God, know my anxious thoughts. Lead me with your wisdom and divine understanding to make godly choices and ways that pleases your heart, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
