13 May 2024 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today‘s Inspiration: ”But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.“ James‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬. Bitterness hardens the heart and it produces manipulative thoughts and actions which are self gratifying but spiritually sinning against God. There are Christians who use scriptures to justify, explain and reason themselves to be better than others religious but inwardly harbours anger, rage and resentments. Are these familiar to you?

Such earthly, unspiritual and demonic “cleverness” or so call “wisdom” are abomination to God. It can be extremely religious, narcissistic and controlling. There is no love of Christ in it but bitter root of anger and unloving spirit caused by wounds, hurts and pain embedded in the soul. The key to be healed and delivered is to intentionally identified them by the discernment of the Holy Spirit in emotional healing and confess them to God with sincere repentance. Remember God can forgive all sins except a hardened heart. That’s why a believer can be in church for decades but not change. Why? He or she is not a disciple of Christ because no one is discipling them. Godly wisdom can only come from the fear of the Lord in humility, obedience and teachability.

Prayer: O Lord my God, search me, know my heart and test me and know my insecure thoughts. If I have hardened my heart in any way because of hurts and wounds, I chose to surrender it to you Lord. Forgive my heart sins, and give me a new heart with the love of Christ. Heal all my negative reactions, words and attitudes. Create in me a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
