13 August 2025 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “Therefore, I (Jesus) tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” Luke‬ ‭7‬:‭47‬ ‭NIV.‬‬ This is a familiar story we know in the house of Simon the Pharisee and the woman who washed Jesus’s feet with her tears and cleaned it with her hair. The former heart was judgemental but the latter heart was contrite and broken. Both were sinners but the one who enters the kingdom of God was the one who was forgiven by Christ through His grace seeing one’s true repentance in the sincerity of heart and not outward appearance.

The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7.‬ In the world, love is shown through benefit but in the Kingdom, love is shown through forgiveness and repentance. Strong marriages are built by two strong forgivers. Godly parenting comes from godly marriages. Do not be angry or harbour unforgiveness or bitterness in the heart. Remember, “A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.” Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭2‬ Why a person can’t feel love? It is because he or she doesn’t know forgiveness, and likely he or she doesn’t know how being forgiven feels like, and likely unrepentant. Only by grace can one feel loved.

Prayer: O Lord my God, test me and know my heart. If there are any bitterness, resentment or anger, I choose to repent and ask for your forgiveness. Forgive me if I have a beam in my eyes and looking at the speck in my brother’s. I am undeserving but you died on the Cross for me; I am unworthy but you forgave me and freed me from my sins, iniquities and transgression, for by your blood I am redeemed, for the wages of sin is death. Therefore by your grace and love, I shall forgive those who had sinned against me, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
