Today‘s Inspiration: ”Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.“ James 3:13 NIV. Pride comes from selfishness and foolishness but Humility comes from wisdom and understanding. What is the difference between a disciple and a follower? A follower is one that looks at the crowd and wants to have what others are having in blessings and healing. And if there is a better way to have it they will follow. But a disciple is not, for he or she must first deny self gratification, make sacrifices and be transformed. It is entirely opposite. Philippians 2:4.
The gospel has no power if the Word of God is not walked or not applied in our daily lives. How can a smoker ask his children not to smoke? How do we expect love ones to receive Jesus if we don’t live in Christlikeness. Matthew 7:1. Are we always angry, resentful, prideful, jealous, bitter, scolding or being easily offended and bearing grudges? These are reactions due to the wounds of the soul. For the gospel to move in the power of the Holy Spirit, there must be spiritual repentance, transformation and changes in our attitudes, behaviours and character. Spiritual encounters come from prayers of humility, sacrifice and obedience to the Word of God. Luke 22:42 Do we surrender to God’s will and let Him change our character?
Prayer: O Lord my God, forgive us of our carnal foolishness of pride, anger and jealousy. Cast out every spirit of fear, insecurities and injustice within that we shall receive the spirit of love, power and humility to be disciples of your Word, your Will and your Work. Let there be a divine transformation and spiritual formation in my spirit man to be more Christlike daily, showing thy love, forgiveness and blessings to people around me in Jesus Name, Amen.
