11 August 2023 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. Psalms‬ ‭51‬:‭15‬-‭17.‬ ‭All of us makes mistakes in our lives and some could be irrevocable, like David who sinned against God with deep sorrows. The hardest person to forgive is oneself and it’s only the encounter of God’s love in Christ could one knows the heart of our heavenly Abba father and the true power of His grace and mercy.

The difference between Saul and David is that both sinned against God but the latter is repentant, humble and has the fear of the Lord. Life setbacks is all in the hands of God for His set ups. Important is not to blame God, others or self but to humble oneself with a contrite heart to learn, change and grow from them through Christ. The key to break all vicious cycle and traps of the enemy is to turn to the Lord first in prayer and exercise forgiveness. Our future is formative by our words, be it by curses or blessings so choose wisely. For out of the hearts, the mouth speaks and where the treasure is, there our hearts shall be. Matthew 6:21.

Prayer: O Lord my God, let your words be my edification, exhortation and comfort. May your peace which surpasses all knowledge and understanding guard my mind and my heart from all distress, disappointment, and discouragement. Turn my sorrows into praises and let my soul rejoices in the finished work of Christ and the power of your redemption in the resurrection, for I was once blind but now I see, I was broken but now I am whole and I was once lost but now I am found, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
